In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story for the Nintendo DS, a mysterious illness known as the Blorbs begins spreading across the Mushroom Kingdom, causing its victims to swell to enormous size. Princess Peach calls an emergency meeting to address the crisis, but the scheming Fawful intervenes and tricks Bowser into inhaling everyone present. As a result, Mario, Luigi, and several others become trapped inside Bowser’s body.

Unaware of the heroes within him, Bowser sets out on his own quest to reclaim his castle and uncover the source of the chaos threatening the kingdom. Meanwhile, Mario and Luigi navigate the strange and comical environments inside Bowser, solving puzzles and battling enemies while subtly influencing his strength and abilities from within.

The story alternates between controlling Bowser in the outside world and guiding the brothers through his internal systems, creating a dual perspective adventure. As Fawful’s plan to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom becomes clear, Bowser, Mario, and Luigi must work together in unexpected ways to stop him. Through humor, teamwork, and clever strategy, they ultimately fight to restore peace and cure the Blorbs once and for all.
