In New Super Mario Bros. 2, the Mushroom Kingdom is once again thrown into turmoil when the ever persistent Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach. As usual, it is up to Mario and optionally his brother Luigi to chase down the Koopa King and restore peace.
This time, the adventure has a golden twist. Coins are everywhere, pouring from pipes, raining from blocks, and spilling out of enemies. Special Gold Rings turn foes into coin dropping opportunities, while the powerful Gold Flower transforms Mario into Gold Mario, allowing him to turn bricks into even more riches. The game introduces a unique objective to collect one million coins throughout the journey.
Across grassy plains, scorching deserts, haunted mansions, icy landscapes, and dangerous castles, the brothers battle Bowser’s minions, including the mischievous Koopalings. Each world brings them closer to Bowser’s stronghold and a final showdown to rescue Princess Peach.
